What are some of the names for girls that you hate?

Serenity. It's the name of a urinary incontinence pad.

Gertrude, Bertha, Bernice, Maxine, etc. It's not that they're bad...they're just old fashioned. If you want an old fashioned name as a middle name, great! But choose something else as a first name!

Leighton. I guess it's so popular because it's the name of the girl on Gossip Girl. But in my opinion, it's not a pretty name.

Anything with an apostrophe! I can't stand names like K'Lee (Kaylee) or Sue'san (Susan).

Anything backwards! Nevaeh (I've known girls with this name), Legna (Angel), Yoj (Joy), Traeh (Heart), etc. They sound stupid and are hard to pronounce.

Allegra. I know that it was a girl's name before it was an allergy medication's name. But now that it IS the name of an allergy medicine, it doesn't sound very pretty anymore.

What are some of the names for girls that you hate?
anything misspelled, especially endings like -ee or -eigh, ie: Lindseigh, Caseigh, Brittanee, or Ashlee.

Nicknames for Girls. Yes my name is Abigail, and I don't really like Abigail, so I go by Abby. But I'm not going to name my daughter Katie just because I think that a 12 year old Katherine would hate her name.

Names that start with Mc or Mak. Especially misspelled. Mackenzie and Michaela aren't horrible, but I hate things like McKenna, McKiley, or Macailey. I especially when they are spelled Mikinzi, McKayla, Mackaylee, MecKenna, and MCiley.

Boys names for girls. If you can't name a boy Sue, you can't name a girl Aiden, Ryan, or Andrew, no matter how much you love them.

Ghetto names or spellings (basically anything that starts with La, ends in Quisha, or has an apostraphe ' in it). LaQuisha. ShaNika. Na'Maya. Al'ay'nah. I don't care how pretty the name Alana is; it does not look pretty as Al'ay'nah.

I also don't like words for names. Cashmere, Cookies, Peach, or Rabbit are not good names. Yeah, I have a cashmere sweater that I love, but I also have a cute pleather headband, and i"m not naming a kid Pleather.

Others:

Miley (it's not a real name, just Miley's Cyrus's name, which came from some nickname "Smiley")

Kiley (seems trashy, and every Kiley I know is a total Brat, no offense)

Emma Leigh (It's Emily. It's a name, and it doesn't need to be two. If you hear Em-uh-lee, everyone is going to right down Emily, so it's just as bad as a unique spelling. It'sjust annoying.)

I know...I'm really piocky when it comes to names. I like names like Delaney, Tatiana, along with some old-fahsion classics like Daphne, Charlotte, Lucy and Ruby. So I'm not THAT picky. =]
Reply:Do I hate the girl herself??

Or the name??

The names I hate are

Emily (sounds to stuck-up)

Maria (to old-fashioned)

Hayley is ok sometimes. it really depends on the actuall person.

Anything that sounds like.

Uniqua

Shinequa

Alika

Ect.

If anyones names are Uniqua, Sheniqua, Alika, Emily, Maria or Hayley this wasn't directed towards you. Sorry if it was found offensive. Blah. Blah.
Reply:I dislike:

Grace -- Destiney, Hope, Joy, etc. All these "virtue" names, yuck

Dylan

La'Kayla -- Or anything that begins with La!

Gia

Miley

Hannah -- Miley Cyrus ruined it

Frances

Quinn

Kyra -- personal reason

Sydney -- personal reason

Jasmine -- personal reason AND because I just don't like it! lol

Harmony -- Lyric, Music, Meldoy, etc. I LOVE music, but I wouldn't name a girl this!

Madison -- Maddie names are getting annoying!

Clara

Imogen

There's probably more...lol. But those are the ones I just thought of.

Reply:I don't care for any of the unisex names:

Toni

Corrie

Stacie

Teri

Dana (Yes, I've known several male Danas)

Carol (see above)

Kim (see above)

Tracie

Jordan, etc.

And I REALLY dislike male names being stolen for females:

Logan

Lindsey

Taylor

Ashley

Maddison

Charlie

Sam

Taylor

Jaden

Ira

Elijah

Unisex names cause confusion that no child needs, and male names used for females look like the parent was trying too hard to prove that a girl is as competent as a boy.
Reply:Most trendy stuff, like Sierra, anything ending in -leigh (except Ashleigh), anything in an "alternative" spelling, anything spelled backwards, any boys names or surnames used for girls, and anything that sounds "hood". I generally like traditional names, but I can't stand these particular ones: Bertha, Amber, Jamie, Olive, Nan, and Nicole.
Reply:Kathleen, Ann, Bertha, Cindy, Drew, Ellie, Fransis, Gertrude( i was almost named that) Helga, Ira, Jinny, Loreen, Meana, Norreen, Ophelia, Pat, Sally, Tibbatha, Ursela, Vicki, Winnifred,

Theres more but these are just a few No offense to anyone who these names are
Reply:Girl names I hate are: Lauren, Taylor, Tiffany, Courtney, Katelyn, Kylie, Kira, Sierra, Brianna, Jaden, Summer, Heather, Tracy, Toni, Ava, Kelly, Holly,
Reply:Mylie/Kylie/Riley - no matter how you spell them

Madison/Addison -- too common and overused

Anything ending in -leigh. I actually like the name Leigh but don't like when people add -leigh when it should be spelled -ly, -lie, -ley, etc. The worst I've seen is Molleigh (Molly)
Reply:Helga (ughhhhh- blech!)

Bertha (same as above)

Ashley (makes me think of a blonde, stuck up gir)

Barbie (um.... EW)

If you're name is one of these it's not directed at you it's jsut my personal opinion
Reply:Nevaeh - sounds horrible!

Aubrey - looks like they put the 'd' backwards when trying to spell Audrey

Mia - doesn't even sound like a name, sorry!

Maya - again, doesn't even sound like a name!

oh gosh the list goes on!
